The 20th Annual Basic Income Guarantee (BIG) Conference will be held June 23-25, 2022. This will be a hybrid congress.

What’s the BIG Conference, you ask? Formerly known as the North American Basic Income Guarantee (NABIG) Congress, this year marks the conference’s 20th anniversary! Powered by researchers, activists, artists, and policy makers, this will be a space to share collective expertise, experiences, and energies with the goal of moving the vision of a basic income guarantee forward. The conference will take place on June 23rd-25th, 2022. The BIG Conference will be accepting proposals starting Friday, December 17th for papers, panels, roundtables, exhibits, and artistic offerings. Proposals on any topic involving basic income will be considered, but they are particularly interested in submissions related to the theme: “It’s time to get BIG! The Stats, The Stories, The Steps.” Some guiding questions include:

What do we know about the impact of basic income programs that can inform the narrative in public policy debates?

What more have we learned from the increasing number of basic income pilots throughout the U.S. and beyond?

What has been the experience of activists and organizing campaigns on the narratives surrounding basic income?

The proposal should be 250 words maximum and the submission deadline is January 31, 2022. Link to submission form coming soon!
